Kimman gets 1,000th point as Pioneers beat Lakers

Pierz had two big quarters as the Pioneers defeated visiting Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, 66-41, in a Central Minnesota Conference girls’ basketball game February 19.

Senior Cyndi Kimman became the sixth girl in Pioneer history to score over 1,000 points. She needed 13 points to reach the mark, according to Pierz coach Rick Sczublewski, and she scored 19, along with five assists, 10 rebounds and 10 steals. Reaching the 1,000th point in her career was a greater accomplishment than her predecessors since Kimman did not play her junior year due to injury.

The Pioneers outscored the Lakers 17 to five in the first quarter and 20 to five in the third quarter.
