Royalton boys move step closer to the Prairie Conference crown

Royalton moved one step closer to the Prairie Conference boys’ basketball championship with a 66-40 win over Osakis, February 18.

Mark Epsky led the Royals, 8-2 in the PC and 16-3 overall, in scoring with 23 points. Alan Wilczek added 10 points and Kyle Kloss and Matt Gohl chipped in with nine points apiece.

Lakers thump Pioneers, 75-49, in CMC action
Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted defeated Pierz by 26 points in Central Minnesota Conference action at Howard Lake. Aaron Neu led the Pioneers with 11 points. Mark Kimman had eight points and Adam Tschida added seven.

Cubs top Huskers, 88-59, in conference battle
Kimball broke open a close Central Minnesota Conference battle with visiting Holdingford in the second half and won the game by 29 points. The Cubs led 31-30 at halftime and out-scored the Huskers 22-14 in the third quarter and 35-15 in the fourth quarter.

Eric Ebnet led the Huskers with 26 points. Teammates Josh Sobieck and Jim Muehlbauer had 11 and 10 points, respectively, and Eric Berscheid chipped in with nine points.
