Restoration on downtown wall gets underway

The restoration of the pre-1920s Gail & Ax mural cigarette advertisement has recently begun in downtown Little Falls. Area students have been removing the old paint and prepping the wall for the historic recreation. The restoration is being supervised by teacher and mural artist, Frank Gosiak, and is being sponsored by the Tobacco Free Future Organization. The new advertisement will include educational information on the hazards of smoking. The restoration has led the students on a search for information about the building and the ad. They ask that anyone who can provide information on the LaFond Buick business, the Lauermann Companies or Red Evans please contact the Renovation 2000 project at 704 13th Street SW, Little Falls, or call Jenny at 632-5359.
