Royalton State Bank of Little Falls to have new home; bank president steps down

Bank owners have purchased the former Henning’s Restaurant located at 1201 First Avenue Northeast in Little Falls and will relocate its Little Falls Office to that location. Work will begin immediately to liquidate the restaurant equipment and remodel the building. This will be the permanent location for the Little Falls Office. President John Stone stated, “No time-table has been established for the move from the current location in Lora B’s Plaza to this new location, but it is anticipated that it will occur after January 1, 2001.”

He added, “Relocating to a permanent location is ahead of the bank’s original schedule. The tremendous reception that the bank has received since the Little Falls facility opened last August, and the availability of this building with its excellent location, made it time to move ahead.”

He explained that the entire building will be remodeled to provide a complete banking and investment center.

Stone also announced that, effective July 1, he would relinquish his position as president of the Royalton State Bank.

He said, “I will continue working at the bank on a part-time basis during this management change and will assist in the development of this major new full-service branch location in Little Falls.” Stone has been president of the Royalton State Bank since December 1, 1986.

Stone told the Record, “I want to take things easy. It is time to enjoy some of my hobbies. I will still be active with the bank for a while.”

He added, “My wife Jan will continue with her position as Principal of Mary of Lourdes Elementary School.”

Rob Ronning will assume the top management position at Royalton State Bank. Ronning is originally from eastern South Dakota and a graduate of Northern State University with a degree in Business Administration. Ronning has been employed at the Royalton State Bank since September 1, 1993. He and his wife, Lori, have two children—Stephanie, age seven, and Jennifer, four.

Jon Vetter, assistant vice president at the Little Falls Office, will become branch manager for that facility. Vetter joined the bank on September 1, 1999. He and his wife, Gina, reside in Little Falls with their two children—AnnMarie, age two, and Anthony, one.
