Upsala trims Royalton in Prairie Conference volleyball action

Upsala’s volleyball team stop-ped Prairie Conference foe Royal-ton in three straight games on Thursday evening. Game scores of the match at Upsala were 15-3, 15-5 and 15-0.

For Royalton, Maria Blaszak and Lori Henry each had two kills. For Upsala, the conference leader, Natalie Bartkowicz was 15-for-15 serving, Jennifer Boeckermann was 13-for-14 serving and had four kills and two blocks, and Lisa Ripplinger had three kills and two blocks.

Upsala 15-15-15, Royalton 3-5-0.

St. Cloud Tech rallies to topple Little Falls, 3-1
Little Falls won the first game of the Central Lakes conference match, 15-8, but St. Cloud Tech rallied to win the next three–15-5, 15-1 and 15-5.

For Little Falls, Amanda Klein was 12-for-14 in serving, Sarah Fedor was 22-for-26 in hitting with seven kills, Rachel Davich was 13-for-14 in hitting with seven kills and 34-for-37 in setting with eight assists, and Ashley Dolney was 13-for-15 in passing with six digs.

Pioneers pushed to five games before winning
Pierz won the first two games (15-12 and 15-11) before host Kimball came back to win the next two (16-14 and 15–13) and deadlock the match. In the fifth and deciding game, Pierz won 15-6.

Pacing Pierz in the Central Minnesota Conference match were Tracy Bell (27-for-30 hitting with seven aces, 24-for-24 hitting with six kills, 147-for-149 setting with 40 assists and 23 digs), Shari Waytashek (18-for-21 serving with five aces, 28-for-35 hitting with eight kills and 23 digs), Kelly Gruber 13-for-14 serving and 21 digs), Terry Block (11-for13 serving 23-for-30 hitting with seven kills, four blocks and 16-for-17 setting), Stacy Block (16-for-19 serving with four aces, 36-for-38 hitting with 10 kills, four blocks and 22 digs), Jodi Solinger (20-for-24 serving with five aces and 28 digs), Lexie palo 30-for-39 hitting with eight kills, Amy Herold (eight -for-10 hitting), Allyson Kloss (17-for-19 hitting with six kills) and gwen Mattlock (eight-for-eight hitting with five kills).

The win was a milestone for Coach Sheryl Wesenberg–her 100th as a varsity coach for Pierz.
