Warriors hand Flyers loss in a Central Lakes Conference meet

Little Falls girls’ swimming and diving team lost its second meet of the season to Central Lakes Conference foe Brainerd, 111-75, on Thursday in Little Falls. It left the Flyers 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the CLC.

Both losses were to teams tied for the top spot in the CLC–Sartell and Brainerd at 4-0.

“Even though we ended up on the losing side, the team really swam well in some of the individual events,” said Flyer coach Sarah Filippi.

The Flyers set two pool records (and the Warriors also set two) as Jessie Ylitalo placed first in the 100 freestyle in 57.07 seconds and Julie Carlson won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.20.

The Flyers also won three other events–Carlson in the 200 individual medley (2:24.22), Ylitalo in the 50 freestyle (26.32 seconds) and Emily Tschida in the 100 breaststroke (1:16).

The Flyer junior varsity team remainded undefeated (8-0) with a 107-75 victory.
