CLC theatre department to present ‘Hello, Dolly!’

Still accompanied by the whoopla that garnished its record-breaking seven-year run in New York, Hello Dolly! will come swaying into the Central Lakes College’s John Chalberg Theatre, on February 14, for 10 performances through February 25.

With songs by Jerry Herman and a book derived by Michael Stewart from Thorton Wilder’s farce The Matchmaker, Hello, Dolly! recounts how a bustling marriage broker in New York in the 1890’s has nearly concluded a match between Horace Vandergelder, a tight-fisted “half a millionaire” of Yonkers and Mrs. Molloy, a milliner in New York, when she sets out to snag the prize for herself.

Hello, Dolly! plays February 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24 at 7:30 p.m., and February 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. February 18 is a signed performance.

Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under, $8 for seniors and $10 for general admission. A special Family Pak, two adults and two children’s tickets, is available for $22. For reservations, one can call the Theatre Box Office at (218) 855-8199.

Hello, Dolly! is sponsored in part by a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council and is presented by special arrangements with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
