Students nominated for Triple ‘A’ award

Two Little Falls Community High School seniors have been nominated for the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award recently.

Established in 1988, The Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award (Triple “A”) Award) is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award is presented to high school seniors who have a “B” or better grade average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic programs and fine arts activities such as theater, speech, music, and debate, according to Principal Bob Just, who made the announcement.

Kristy Feia has participated in National Honor Society, Target, Adventure Club and Youth Group (president). Her athletic activities have included Cross Country (JV letter, Distinguished Academic Achievement Award), Soccer (Varsity Letter), and Track and Field (Varsity Letter 9-11, CLC Athletic Award 4,200 relay and 4×400 relay). She has participated in Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band and Wind Ensemble (Superior and Excellent Ratings Solo and Excellent Rating Duet).

Kevin Herdegen has participated in Math League, Church Youth Group, Bible Study, and playing trumpet at his church and area nursing homes. His athletic activities have included Track and Field (three Varsity Letters) and Basketball. He has participated in Band, One Act Play, Orchestra for Musicals, Soloists (Superior Award), First Chair Band, Jazz Band (band received Superior), and All School Play.

The League’s Administration Regions will review the Triple “A” Award nominees. The top two award finishers from each region will be invited to the Triple “A” banquet in March where league officials will announce the award winners. Following the banquet, all of the award nominees will take part in an on-court award ceremony.
