Despite the rain, Relay for Life is a success

When you’re given a lemon, you make lemonade. And, when your special event gets dampened by a heavy rainfall, you simply wait until the clouds clear.

The Morrison County Relay for Life 2001, because of rains that fell the evening of July 27, had to be played out in two rounds. Taking place at Flyer Field, the Relay got started, as scheduled, at 7 p.m. Friday evening. Leading the pack of walkers were the cancer survivors. These were followed by children who were followed by the 33 teams. In all, 408 walkers participated in the continuing walk to raise funds for cancer research and to aid cancer victims.
