Mike explained, “While selling seeds, I became acquainted with most of the producers of the items we offer for sale. Most of our produce comes from the Clear Lake, Becker and Foley area, but we will sell locally grown produce if we receive it. We don’t grow any of the produce ourselves as there is no adjoining land available.”

He added, “We got a late start this year. We purchased the business June 15. We plan to stay open through Halloween and then we will close for the winter and open in the spring. Kathy will be attending the floral program at Brainerd College and plans on offering flower arrangements when we re-open.”

Mike and Kathy, along with their four-year old daughter Anna, plan on moving to the area in the near future.

This is the first business venture the Kottoms have undertaken and they are looking forward to meeting the local residents as well as those traveling through the area. Wild Oats offers a large line of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The business is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for Fridays when the hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
