Mn/DOT to present Hwy. 10 and 24 proposal plans in Royalton Dec. 12

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and its consultant, SRF Consulting Group, Inc., are hosting two public open houses to discuss the proposed Interregional Corridor Management Plan for Highway 10 between Highway 371 north of Little Falls to Highway 24 in Clear Lake, and Highway 24 from Highway 10 in Clear Lake to Interstate 94 in Clearwater.

The meetings will be held Dec. 11 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Clearwater City Hall and Dec. 12 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the basement of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton. Interested persons are encouraged to attend the open house most convenient and/or applicable to them, depending on their area of interest within the corridor.

Progress to date on the study includes the development of short-term and long-term priorities, concept layouts and benefit/cost analysis. The open house will provide preliminary study results and recommendations for the Interregional Corridor Management Plan.

Mn/DOT and consultant team members will be available to answer questions about the highway corridors and the study. People attending the open houses will also have the opportunity to submit written comments as well.

The purpose of the Interregional Corridor Management Plan is to develop a common vision and management approach in order to improve the ability of Highway 10 and Highway 24 to serve as important statewide connections for Minnesota in the future. Public involvement is essential in creating a plan that will effectively address the challenges along the highways and assess improvement alternatives.

The Highway 10/24 study is one of seven corridor plans being conducted by Mn/DOT statewide as part of the ‘Moving Minnesota’ program. For more information, see Mn/DOTs web site at: www.dot.state.mn.us/moving minnesota.
