Three Flyers earn all-conference at CLC ski meet

Little Falls competed in the Central Lakes Conference Nordic Ski Meet on Thursday afternoon at Blueberry Hills near Deer River. The meet was originally slated for Camp Ripley.

Three Flyers earned all-conference by placing among the top six finishers in their respective events. Josh Gold finished third in the boys’ freestyle with a time of 13:09, six seconds behind the winner. Matt Krousey finished sixth in boys’ classic competition in 16:08 and Nancy Silbernick finished sixth in girls’ classic competition with a time of 19:23.

Rounding out the Flyers’ results were: in boys’ freestyle—Tim Wasland, 11th in 14:18; Matt Wondery, 23rd in 17:29; and, Seth Lein, 24th in 18:30; in boys’ classic—Jared Asmus, eighth in 16:33; and Cody Rekstad, 17th in 20:35; in girls’ freestyle—Megan Germschied, eighth in 16:47; Holly Fuechtmann, 13th in 17:54; Jenna Herzog, 19th in 18:58; and Jenny Barnes, 24th in 21:58; and, girls’ classic—Emily Gustafson, 13th in 20:13; Kayla Kluver, 14th in 20:24; and, Jolene Januschka, 19th in 22:10.

In junior varsity competition, Ben Kirchoff placed 23rd (19:48) in boys’ freestyle.

Brainerd won both the boys’ and girls’ team titles with 110 and 108 points, respectively. Little Falls’ boys placed third with 96 points and the girls, fourth with 84 points.

BOYS’ RESULTS—Brainerd 110, Alexandria 105.5, Little Falls 96, St. Cloud Tech 91, St. Cloud Apollo 86, Willmar 78.5.

Girls’ Results—Brainerd 108, St. Cloud Apollo 107, Alexandria 104, Little Falls 84, Sartell 78, Willmar 78, St. Cloud Apollo 41.5
