Royalton Legion suffers first loss

Cross Lake played host to Royalton for a pair of five-inning American Legion baseball games Thursday evening.

Pete Gleisner continued his dominance on the mound in game one as he struck out seven and allowed only two hits in a complete game victory.

At the plate, Mike Wenner was 2/3 with a run scored. Andrew Gurbada, Brian Hanson, Josh Goedderz and Gleisner all finished 1/3.

Gleisner stayed on the mound to start game two. Royalton dropped the second contest, 6-3.

Gleisner pitched the first three innings, yielding three hits, two earned runs and striking out four before giving way to Goedderz. Goedderz was tagged with the loss as he gave up two runs and fanned four in two innings.

Scoring runs for Royalton in game two were Hanson, Chris Fussy and Aaron Petron. Goedderz was 1/2 with a triple.

Royalton, now 3-1, is off until July 9 when they will host Pierz at 6:30 p.m. Royalton is coached by Myron Gleisner.
