Royalton girls third in SJP meet

The Royalton girls cross country team finished third, out of 10 schools, in the Otto Weber Cross Country Invitational Thursday at St. John’s Prep.

The Royal boys also competed but had an incomplete score.

Rush City won the girls’ division with a score of 61 followed by St. Cloud Cathedral 81, Royalton 108, Maple Lake 111, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 113, Hinckley-Finlayson 116, Howard Lake -Waverly 150 and Foley, St. John’s Prep and Pillager had incomplete scores.

Rush City’s Kayla Witte was the top runner in the girls’ division with a time of 16:20.

Royalton’s Erin Makela was 11th at 17:41; Jenny Borash, 15th, 18:18; Erin Wunderlich, 25th, 19:09; Kellie Lippert, 26th, 19:13; and Jesssica Meyer, 31st, 19:20.

Hinckley-Finlayson won the boys’ division with a score of 39 followed by Christ’s Household of Faith 68, BBE 89, Holdingford 127, HL-W 138, Maple Lake 139, SJ Prep 153, Rush City 173, and Royalton, incomplete.

CHOF’s Renato Otten won the boys’ division in 16:47.

Royalton’s Randy Borash was 12th at 18:34 and Jeremy Kajewski finished 51st in 22:56.

The Royalton results of Tuesday’s cross country meet at the Albany Purple Pride Invitational are included with the Pierz cross country report in this week’s Morrison County Record.
