Royalton has 1-2 volleyball week

Royalton had a 1-2 volleyball week, losing to Holdingford, beating Osakis and losing to Eagle Valley Thursday night.

The 1-2 week dropped the Royals back below the .500 mark on the year, 7-8.

Holdingford 3, Royals 0
Holdingford needed only three games Monday night to beat Royalton in volleyball 3-0.

The Huskers won 15-12, 15-8 and 15-6.

The loss dropped the Royalton season record to 6-7, 4-3 in the Prairie Conference.

Michelle Bechtold had eight kills for Royalton, Lori Henry seven and Michelle Nix six.

Sam Peterick went 14-15 from the service line for the Royals. Nix had three service aces.

Holdingford’s Becky Determan had seven kills, one ace serve and three ace blocks; Jackie Bloch had five kills, one ace serve and nine digs; Beth Swilling had five kills and three ace serves; Alicia Winter, four ace serves and 10 digs; and Kendra Zapzalka had two ace serves and seven digs.

The win gave Holdingford a 7-8 season record.

Royals 3, Osakis 0
Royalton evened its season record at 7-7 Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over Osakis.

The Royals won 15-11, 15-6 and 15-10.

Bechtold had eight kills for Royalton, Henry seven and Nix six. Peterick was 14-15 serving.

Eagle Valley 3, Royals 2
The Royals lost a heart breaker to Eagle Valley Thursday night 3-2.

The loss gave the Royals a 7-8 season record.
