Swanville volleyball loses two

Swanville was shut out in both volleyball games this past week, losing to Browerville and to Upsala Thursday night.

The 0-2 week gave the Bulldogs a 1-8 season record.

Browerville 3, Swans 0
Swanville had a one-week break in the schedule but Browerville still shut out the Bulldogs 3-0 Tuesday night.

Browerville won 15-7, 15-6 and 15-6.

“It wasn’t a good effort for us. We did not communicate well and had a lot of unforced errors,” explained Swanville Coach Chad Feikema.

Megan Sieben led the Bulldogs with 13 attacks and four ace hits. Francine Strassberg served 12-12 and had eight service points. Tracy Defrance had 15 setting assists.

The loss gave Swanville a 1-7 season record.

Upsala 3, Swanville 0
Swanville lost its eighth match of the year Thursday night, falling to Upsala 3-0.

Upsala won 15-4, 15-1 and 15-10.

Nicole Meagher had 31 sets for the Bulldogs, Sieben had three kills and one ace block.
