St. Otto’s Care Center’s residents and staff appreciate all the community support shown us during this holiday season. We are grateful to the many individuals and groups who shared their time and talents, and their spirit of Christmas with us.

Thank you to the church groups, businesses, organizations and volunteers who decorated the halls, outdoor Nativity Scene and unique Christmas trees in our “Adopt-A-Christmas Tree” program. We appreciate the individuals who played St. Nick, Santa and Mrs. Claus and the children who were Santa’s elves.

We are so grateful to the wonderfully talented musicians and the groups who entertained at our special events. Thanks to all who caroled, visited, brought goodies and gifts, sponsored Bingo and the children who presented Christmas programs.

Because of all of you, the warmth of the Christmas season will surround us for a long time. We wish you a happy new year.—Residents and staff at St. Otto’s Care Center.

I wish I could thank you all individually, but am unsure how to actually accomplish that, so I’m writing to thank all who assisted my son, Jordan, this past Sunday when he was injured at Eagle Mountain while inner tubing with family members. I don’t know everyone’s name who helped us, but would like you all to know how valuable you were when Jordan needed your help!

The people I can name are Rachel (in the blue jacket), Uncles Ron, Mike and Dave, and paramedics Julie and Andy. I have to also thank the entire Grey Eagle First Response Team and an unidentified woman (I hope someone knows her name). The only thing I know about her is that she’s an EMT who happened to be tubing with her children at the same time we were. She was at the top of the hill helping Rachel free Jordan from the rope, rode in the van down the hill, and took care of him until the First Response Team arrived. She was so thorough and calm!

As I’m sure all parents can relate, the sight of one of my children being helpless and in pain is unnerving and heartbreaking. I honestly feel that what could have been a much more serious injury was prevented because of the quick thinking and action of these angels who assisted Jordan!

Finally, I want to thank Grandpa and Grandma Verley for their support and Aunt Tracy, Jamie and all the cousins who watched the rest of our children while I was at the hospital with Jordan.

Darin and I, along with all of our children (Christian, Jordan, Gabrielle, and Anthony) thank you all so much!—Cindy Agnew, Becker, MN
