A rising problem, methamphetamine use in Morrison County

Otherwise known as “crank,” methamphetamine (meth) use in Morrison County is just now showing its face. In an attempt to spread awareness and give some training on dealing with meth labs and use in the area, three branches of the county collaborated to organize a separate community forum and training session for the public on Oct. 2.

Morrison County Public Health, Social Services and the Western Area City County Cooperative worked together to plan the afternoon training session, while the County’s Child Protection Agency hosted the evening forum. About 155 people of various professions, many of whom are more likely to deal with meth issues, were signed up for the training session. Almost 200 showed up.
