Good defense and poor shooting resulted in the teams scoring a combined 16 points in the second quarter as Royalton led 26-15 at the halfway point. Swanville re-grouped in the second half, as they cut into the Royalton lead outscoring them 14-12. But it wasn’t enough as the teams traded blows in the final quarter as Royalton stayed ahead and outscored the Bulldogs 15-14. “They always play hard,” Makela said. “And I always tell my girls, ‘We cannot count them out anytime because they will come back.” Ann has them playing very well and they’ve improved since we saw them last time.”
