Bulldogs trying to see silver lining in up and down season

The Bulldogs came out in the second half with a determination to get back into the game. They nearly did it. Swanville utilized their aggressiveness to drive the lane and either make high-percentage shots or get the foul line to shoot two. “The second half they just kept driving the lane on us and then shot well from the line,” said Makela whose defense had to adjust to the Bulldogs’ inside game.

“There’s a difference between this team and last year’s,” said Swanville Head Coach Ann Just, now in her second year with the Bulldogs. “This team’s much more aggressive. Our kids don’t give up. Last year we would get down early and the girls would just roll over.” The Bulldog coach added that she’s seeing improvement at times, but that the team still loses focus at other times.
