The public is invited to attend any or all of the scheduled events sponsored by Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and the Student Council, in association with area emergency response agencies.

The junior high portion of the program begins at 9:15 a.m. followed by the senior high presentation at 10:15 a.m. in the High School gym. Guest speaker will be Bill Osberg of Little Falls who lost his son in an alcohol related accident. Both groups of students will proceed separately to the football practice field to witness the mock crash scene. Afterwards, they will be able to talk with teachers and staff about what they saw.

Participating in the demonstration will be the Pierz Police Department, Pierz First Response Team, Pierz Fire and Rescue volunteers, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross Ambulance, Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel and Brenny Funeral Home. Area news media have been invited to cover the event.

Pierz firefighters will demonstrate the powerful Jaws of Life equipment and actually use it to extricate a dummy passenger from the car for the senior high students. Weather permitting, the LifeLink helicopter stationed at St. Cloud Airport will be called in to transport one of the seriously injured victims away.
