Pre-prom car crash reenactment at Pierz Healy High School

The screech of tires in the distance followed by an eerie silence. A dazed young man in a tuxedo wanders around not sure what happened. A girl in a blood-spattered prom dress frantically calls to her friend lying motionless on the ground. A painful moan from the back seat of the overturned car is barely audible. A perfect evening shattered by the blaring emergency vehicle sirens.

It’s a scene nobody should experience. Thankfully, the mock car crash at Pierz Healy High School on Friday, May 7 is only a reenactment calling attention to the dangers of drinking and driving. The pre-prom drug and alcohol awareness event is meant to make students think twice about the possible devastating consequences of bad decisions during the spring prom and graduation season.
