John G. Ginter, 57

John G. Ginter, a resident of Little Falls, died March 26, 2005, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in St. Cloud.

A Committal Service was held March 31 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls with Rev. Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial was held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Military Rites were conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post # 46 and the Little Falls VFW Post #1112.

John G. Ginter was born on Sept. 13, 1947, in Little Falls, to the late Joseph and Philomene (Copa) Ginter. He grew up in Pike Creek Township and attended school in Little Falls. Upon graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, proudly serving from 1966 to 1968. He was united in marriage to Patricia Flahave on March 12, 1971, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls and later divorced. John farmed until his employment at Lindbergh State Park in Little Falls. He retired in June of 2004.

John is survived by his special friend, Terri Schmitz; sons, Joel Ginter and wife Sarah, Justin Ginter and John L. “Roddy” Ginter; daughters, Joy Weidenbach and husband Gregg, Janna Ginter and Jay, Jill Romann and husband Dustin and Jordon Hirdler and husband Leroy; a brother Joseph Ginter; sisters, Patsy Imgrund and husband Doug, Dorothy Quintana and husband Frank, Agnes Mattson and husband Fran, Lucy Deering and husband, Claire and Mary Ginter; six grandchildren, Ian, Bridget, Julienne, Aiden, Kieryn and Avery.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joanie Ginter.
