Flyers softball is shut out by Sauk Rapids

Sauk Rapids collected five runs and seven hits to blow its softball game with Little Falls wide open. The Storm won the game 10-0. Prior to the fifth inning the score had only been 3-0.

Allison Gaffke took the loss on the mound for Little Falls. Gaffke pitched five innings and collected three strikeouts.

Jenni Zak went 1-2 with a walk for Little Falls.

Sartell 10 Little Falls 1

Sartell collected eight hits in the fourth inning and used them to score six runs. That inning put the Sabers up for good and they cruised to a 10-1 victory.

Angela Ringwelski took the loss for Little Falls, pitching three and one-third innings. Allison Gaffke pitched the remainder of the game.

The Flyers collected six hits in the game. Ashley Schneider collected the lone RBI and Jessie Olson scored the Flyers’ lone run.

Royalton 8 East Central 4

The Royals survived their first sub section game on May 20 with a convincing 8-4 victory over East Central.

Leslie Warzecha picked up the victory for Royalton. Warzecha pitched the entire game striking out eight and walking four.

At the plate Amanda Meyer went 4-4 with a double and an RBI. Senior Michelle Bechtold went 2-4 with a double and an RBI as well.

Royalton 9 Swanville 3

After defeating East Central, the Royals moved on to play Swanville. Royalton scored five runs in the fifth inning and emerged victorious with a 9-3 upset victory.

Junior Leslie Warzecha pitched the entire game for Royalton. She surrendered eight hits and three walks to go with ten strikeouts.

At the plate sophomore Brooke Winscher went 4-4 with 2 RBIs.

Tracy DeFrance pitched the entire game for Swanville, taking the loss. DeFrance surrendered 17 hits and a walk. She had seven strikeouts.

Little Falls 3 Alexandria 2

North Sub-Section 8AAA

Little Falls proved that its 1-0 defeat of Alexandria earlier in the year wasn’t a fluke as they defeated the Cardinals again by a score of 3-2.

Alexandria came into this game the number two seed in North Sub-Section 8AAA. Little Falls was the seventh seed. The Cardinals built a small lead and held it, heading into the seventh and final inning with a 2-0 score.

But the Flyers rallied, scoring two runs in the seventh inning. The game went to extra innings where Jenni Zak reached base after an error by Alexandria. Kelly Molitor’s single moved Zak into scoring position and Ashley Schneider’s single brought her home.
