Susan Hanson, 41

Susan Mary (Perowitz) Hanson was born Dec. 3, 1963, in Little Falls to the late Fred Perowitz and Albina Huebsch. She grew up in Flensburg and attended Swanville School, graduating from Nursing School in Anoka. She married John Dean Hanson on May 19, 1984, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Nathan, Mike, Melissa and Aaron. She worked as a RN in Geriatric Nursing and was also a Nursing Instructor at Anoka Hennepin Technical College. She loved teaching nursing. She also loved the outdoors, sitting around the campfire, floating down the river, her ducks and gardening, and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She died on Aug. 26, 2005, in Big Lake.

Sue is survived by her husband John Dean “Woody” of Big Lake; children, Nathan, Mike, Melissa and Aaron, all of Big Lake; two grandchildren, Carter and Levi; mother Albina Huebsch and siblings Jeff Perowitz, Byron Perowitz, Bonnie Van Heel, and Frannie Lenarz.

She was preceded in death by her father Fred Perowitz in April 1982.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 1 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Elk River.

A memorial fund has been set up at all TCF Banks in Sue’s name.
