Funeral services for Della Vernona Vetvick will be held on Tuesday,

Tim Bauer officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery
in Milaca.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church on

Della Vernona Vetvick was born January 4, 1918 in St. Paul, MN to Charles and Blanche (Raven) Gustafson.  She was baptized at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in St. Paul on January 26, 1918 and confirmed May 22, 1932.  She attended St. Paul Central High School for two years before moving with her family to a farm in Oak Park, MN in 1934.  Della graduated from Milaca High School in 1936 and she went to work as a head cashier at Hall’s grocery store in Foley.  She married Julius Vetvick on October 7, 1938 at her parents’ home in Oak Park and together they raised three children, Dennis, Bruce and Gary.  Julius and Della bought a farm in Foley soon after their marriage and farmed there until 1945 when they moved to a 20 acre farm where Della raised chickens and sold eggs to the local stores.  In 1950, they moved to Rockford, IL and moved back to Minnesota in 1952, living in Minneapolis where Della worked for an Overload Service as a typist.  In 1956, Julius and Della moved to Rice Lake, WI and owned and operated the Coast to Coast Hardware Store until 1965.  From 1965 to 1985, they owned and operated Bayview Resort on Lake Bertha, on the White Fish Chain near Pequot Lakes, MN.  In 1989, they retired and moved to Milaca where they lived until moving to Heritage Place in Foley in October 2003.  They enjoyed winter vacationing in Florida and Texas for 25 years.  She died on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Foley Nursing Center at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 20 days.
 
Della is survived by her sons, Dennis and wife Shirley of Minnetonka, Bruce and wife Joyce of Cambridge and Gary of Pequot Lakes and special friend, JoAnne Stattleman of Pine River;  grandchildren, Steve Vetvick and fiancé Jennifer Young, Michelle and husband Bruce Kramer, Stacey and husband Kurt Schmeltzer, Shannon and husband Tim Blessing, Kevin and wife Jackie Vetvick, Kristina Fahlgren, Charles and wife Debbie Vetvick and Cathleen and husband Joe Formanek;  16 great-grandchildren;  one great-great grandson;  brother, Richard and wife Lois Gustafson of Milaca;  sisters in law, Susan Vetvick of Pienellas Park, FL, Bette Vetvick of Golden Valley and Beulah Vetvick of Grand Rapids, MI;  also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius;  her parents;  brother, Gene Gustafson;  brothers in law, Harry, Leo and Norman Vetvick and step brother, Conrad and wife Barbara Erickson.
