An award for the Safe Cab program has been given through the East Central Regional Development Commission (ECRDC), which provides program staffing.

The local Safe Cab program was developed under the auspices of the Isanti County Toward Zero Deaths program, which is one of the Safe Communities programs funded by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

Pictured with the award are ECRDC Executive Director Bob Voss, Safe Cab provider Pete Brown and Bob Bollenbeck, Isanti County Toward Zero Deaths coordinator.

The award description states the Safe Cab program “provides a safe and affordable alternative to drinking and driving.”

It continues, “The program was organized with a variety of partners such as local bar owners, courts and other stakeholders. Results have shown an improvement in reducing the number of DUI arrests and a dramatic lowering of average BAC readings over the past three years.”

The ECRDC congratulates Isanti County TZD Coalition for this recognition.

The Isanti County TZD program reminds all drivers to keep safe by using your seat belt, not drinking and driving and reducing your speed.
