Visiting author details Native American life

A number of things are going on at the Elk River Public Library in January. On Jan. 12 from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. author Ryan Gale, who wrote “The Great Northwest Fur Trade: A material culture, 1763–1850” will be at the library.

The generously illustrated book includes chapters on Native Americans, trade, transportation and other topics related to pioneer life in the Upper Midwest. See more in Star News story.
