Hockey: Elk boys trip Crimson for 6th in row

Elk River has a six-game win streak in boys basketball after turning in a 3-0 victory over Maple Grove.

The Elk River Elks posted their sixth consecutive win 3-0 over the Maple Grove Crimson on Saturday evening.

Nick Filopovich and Nicholas McCormack each scored for the Elks in the second period. The Elks made it 3-0 on an empty-netter from Chad Hennum in the final minute.

The Elks (12-5-1 overall) are tied for second place at 10-2-1 in the NW Suburban Conference, trailing Blaine, which is 9-0-2.

Elk River will host Andover next Thursday.
