Hockey: Royals lose to Mound-Weskonka

Mound-Westonka, co-leader of the Mississippi 8, downed the Rogers Royals 4-1.

The Rogers Royals girls lost to conference co-leader Mound-Westonka 4-1 on Friday evening

Nina Chase notched two goals for the White-Hawks. Emily Halvarson and Taylor Kuehl had the others. Cassie Hall stopped 31 of 32 Rogers shots.

Nikki Erikson scored for Rogers in the first period, with Jenn Lorman and Tori Noland assisting. Becca Leshovsky was in goal.

Rogers is now 5-5-1 in conference and 12-9-2 overall. Mounds View and North Wright County share the lead at 8-1-2.

Rogers will play at Orono next Thursday.
