Highway 25 to close Tuesday as project begins in Pierz

The sign has been up for a couple of weeks, but the work will begin Tuesday, as the Minnesota Department of Transportation project on Highway 25 and down Pierz’ Main Street commences. The project, which includes not only a new highway, but many enhancements to the city of Pierz, such as new sidewalks, utility work, new light fixtures and more, is expected to be completed before the city’s Oktoberfest celebration, Aug. 29. Detour signs will be posted to assist Pierz visitors and residents in their quest to get to areas within the city, or to destinations that usually require a trip through the city.
