Sobieski and Buckman traded a pair of early runs, Saturday. Sobieski didn’t trade any more after that, plating 10 unanswered runs en route to a 12-2, eight-inning victory.
After Sobieski scored two runs in the first inning Buckman tied things back up on a wild pitch and a solo shot by Joe Kahl.
However, the Skis started to run away with things in the bottom of the third after Andrew Lange delivered a go-ahead single.
Jon Czech and Isaac Smieja powered the Sobieski offense, each going 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in.
Josh Wenzel, Nate Olson, Joey Hanowski and Collin Eckman each had multi-hit games for Sobieski as well, as the Skis racked up 16 hits.
Wenzel and Olson both scored twice, Hanowski drove in three runs and Eckman added a pair of RBIs.
Simon Waltman turned in a quality start, allowing two runs over six innings before exiting after the score became lopsided.
Olson pitched two scoreless innings to finish off the contest.
Kahl went 2-for-4 for Buckman. Corey Egan scored the Billygoats’ other run and reached base three times.
Sobieski will square off against Fort Ripley in a prime-time clash under the lights, Sunday, at 7:30 p.m.
Buckman will seek to keep its playoff hopes alive in an elimination game versus Avon, Sunday, at 1:30 p.m.
